Our Core Compliance Philosophy

Compliance & Clinical Integrity Statement

Aegis Health operates as an independent, physician-supervised clinical practice. Our model is built on the principles of medical necessity, provider autonomy, and rigorous evidence-based medicine. We do not manufacture or perform laboratory tests; rather, our clinical team provides complex pathology diagnostic consultations at the explicit request of the treating physician. Our proprietary technology platform, Halo, enforces compliance at every stage of the workflow—verifying clinical identity, securing data across Health Information Exchanges (HIEs), and maintaining an immutable audit trail for all clinical reviews.

Expert Pathology Consultation vs. Automated Reporting

Aegis Health provides professional, physician-led diagnostic consultations. Our services are distinct from the laboratory testing process. Each consultation represents a complex lab results review tailored to a specific patient’s active clinical condition.

  • Physician-Supervised Medical Decision Making: Every consultation is individually reviewed, verified, and signed off by a supervising board-certified Molecular Pathologist.
  • Multi-Source Data Synthesis: Our clinical team does not rely solely on static lab printouts. We utilize our proprietary Halo platform to securely aggregate longitudinal health data, including comprehensive medication histories, active problem lists, and previous encounters via Health Information Exchanges (HIEs) / Qualified Health Information Networks (QHINs) to evaluate the clinical relevance of diagnostic findings.
  • Compliance with CPT Coding Standards: We bill through insurance using CPT codes, because human providers perform our work—not AI or bots. Our work reflects the time, patient history record review, and level of medical decision-making complexity involved in managing medically fragile, polypharmacy, and high-acuity patient populations.
Seamless, Provider-Initiated Clinical Support

Aegis Health operates under a strict collaborative practice model designed to augment your clinical workflows without altering established practice patterns. We function as an on-demand extension of your care team.

  • Strictly Provider-Initiated: Aegis Health only reviews cases and generates consultative insights per the explicit request of the treating clinician. We never perform unapproved reviews.
  • Preserving Clinical Autonomy: Our interpretive reports provide actionable, evidence-based guidance grounded in molecular pathology and advanced pharmacotherapy. These insights are intended to support, not replace, your independent clinical judgment and treatment decisions.
  • Closing Care Gaps Systematically: By integrating directly with your existing EMR/EHR infrastructure, we deliver structured findings directly to the patient’s chart. This ensures seamless continuity of care, robust clinical documentation, and alignment with HEDIS and Medicare Star quality measures.
An Extra Layer of Safety for Your Healthcare Journey

If your doctor has partnered with Aegis Health, it means they are taking an extra step to ensure your treatment plan is as safe, precise, and effective as possible.

  • What We Do: When your doctor orders laboratory testing, such as infectious disease or genetic medication tests, they ask Aegis Health to provide an expert review. This is similar to your doctor ordering a radiologist overview for imaging. Our specialized team of clinical pharmacists and medical doctors reviews your test results along with your full medical history and current medications.
  • Why It Matters: Many patients take multiple medications or see different specialists. We help your doctor see the “big picture” to ensure your prescriptions will not conflict with each other or your unique genetic makeup. Our goal is to prevent side effects, to ensure you get the right treatment the first time, to speed recovery, and to keep you out of the hospital.
  • Your Privacy is Our Priority: Aegis Health uses advanced, secure healthcare technology to review your information. We comply with all federal privacy laws (HIPAA) to ensure your health data remains protected and confidential. We do not replace your regular doctor; we simply give them the expert insights they need to make the best medical decisions to provide you with the highest quality care.
